About Us

My personal interests lie in woodcarving and woodcraft.  It is my goal to provide my customers with the largest selection of Nordic knives and carving tools and other related products.  As the name implies, I am no expert and am very much the novice.  I am currently working my way through the various traditional whittling and carving tasks with my son.  I will occasionally post and share my works, thoughts and learning experiences and you will see for yourself how very well the novice label does fit.  I am also both an avid lightweight backpacker, regular family camper and scout leader, as my son is currently a cub scout.  I am attempting to instill in him, through our regular outings and in a way, this very site, both a love of the woods and a sense of self-sufficiency, both in the woods and in life.   I hope this website inspires others to do the same and continue learning and practicing good conservation, woodcraft skills and traditional woodcarving.
